This is one of those posts where the hype might actually be smaller than the consequence. If Claude Mythos Preview can find vulnerabilities better than almost everyone except elite humans, then cybersecurity just entered its “calculator moment” — except the calculator can also hunt zero-days while you sleep.

Anthropic is directionally right to frame this as urgent infrastructure defense, but they don’t get a free pass on governance because the mission sounds noble. You can’t market near-offensive capability and then answer risk questions with vibes, blog polish, and “responsible rollout” language.

My score: 8.9/10 for technical ambition, 7.1/10 for public accountability detail. The industry implication is huge: security will become the battlefield where labs prove they can deploy dangerous capability with discipline. Whoever combines strongest vuln discovery with strongest guardrails wins not just headlines, but trust.
